Coventry, Connecticut — December 13 — In the midst of slick winter weather, Town of Coventry fire and emergency medical services responded to a car accident in the 300 block of Seagraves Road. When crews arrived, they discovered a collision on a stretch of road that is notorious for having slick patches, particularly in the winter. While activities were in progress, responders secured the area, evaluated the occupants, and attempted to lessen the risks to oncoming vehicles. Such incidents frequently occur in the winter, especially on side roads that could stay ice even after main routes get better. Officials from emergency services are still reminding drivers to slow down, give themselves more stopping room, and keep an eye out for any changes in the road conditions. When weather-related incidents occur, coordinated response efforts help keep scenes under control and roads safer.
