Coventry, Connecticut — December 6 — A car accident on Old Eagleville Road on Friday night prompted the Town of Coventry's fire, emergency medical services, and police departments to attend. When crews arrived, they discovered a pickup truck that had overturned on a steep slope and started fire. After putting out the fire, firefighters helped residents climb the slope to a secure area. EMS assessed four individuals on the spot, and one patient was sent by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Additional EMS assistance was given by Mansfield ambulance services and UConn. Electrical risks were addressed and repairs were started by Eversource staff. Responders were able to effectively stabilize the situation while preserving patient care and general safety thanks to coordinated activities.
