Warren, R.I. — December 11 —A man who had gone into cardiac arrest at Sip N Dip was successfully revived by Warren Fire Department personnel and Warren DPW employees early on November 10. Shortly after arriving for his morning coffee, Mr. Ed Wujcik passed out while sitting close to DPW employees who were on break.

Rescue and Engine 5 were sent out very far away because DPW employees started CPR right away and used a direct line to alert dispatch. When paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters arrived, they administered advanced life support care for about 20 minutes, which included airway management, many medicines, and multiple defibrillations. A spontaneous pulse was restored by the crews. Later, Mr. Wujcik came back to personally thank the DPW employees and responders who had been involved in the incident.

The Warren Fire Department recognized all personnel for their coordinated effort and professionalism during this successful lifesaving response.
