North Grosvenor Dale, Connecticut — November 20 — The Community Fire Company was called to Reardon Road in response to a complaint of a huge tree that had fallen and damaged power wires. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the tree was obstructing the road and damaging electrical lines, posing a risk to responders and drivers. While working close to the utilities concerned, crews created a safety perimeter and secured the area. In order to safeguard emergency workers and enable safe operations, Reardon Road was closed between Redbridge Road and Gaumond Road. Road closures and traffic control were aided by local law officers, and the electric company was alerted to come to the area. Coordination and restricted access are necessary until utilities are secured in cases involving trees and electricity lines. Until the road could be safely reopened, drivers were asked to stay away from the area.
