Norwalk Firefighters Mitigate Electrical Fire at 6 Wilton Ave.

Norwalk, Conn. — December 8, 2025 —At 6:49 p.m., the City of Norwalk Fire Department arrived at 6 Wilton Avenue, a two-story abandoned warehouse, in response to a structural fire. Crews discovered smoke coming from the second story when they arrived.

Firefighters discovered an electrical fire with significant arcing inside the building after forcing entrance. Crews were kept outdoors until the electric company arrived and secured power because of the danger. A fire department connection was made during this period, enabling the sprinkler system to function and contain the fire. After the electricity was turned off, the building was ventilated and hose lines were advanced to put out any leftover flames. Companies vacated the area at around 10:15 p.m. following a thorough revamp. There were no reported injuries. The cause is being looked upon by the Norwalk Fire Marshal Division.
