November 26, 2025 –On Wednesday afternoon, the Robert Fulton Fire Company responded to a spill control incident in Fulton Township after a mechanical failure caused a box truck to release oil onto the roadway.
At 12:25 p.m., Squad 89 and Brush 89 were dispatched to the 600 block of Nottingham Road for reports of a roadway hazard. Upon arrival, crews confirmed that a box truck experiencing mechanical issues had dropped oil across the travel lanes, creating potentially dangerous driving conditions.
Fire company personnel immediately implemented spill control measures to reduce the hazard and prevent further spread of the oil. Fire Police were placed on scene to manage traffic, operating the roadway one direction at a time to ensure the safety of motorists and responders while cleanup operations were underway.
The incident remained active until a wrecker arrived to remove the disabled truck from the roadway. No injuries were reported. Motorists were advised to use caution in the area while crews completed mitigation and traffic control.
