December 6, 2025 — Engine 89-1 and Truck 89-1 from the York Area United Fire & Rescue had the privilege of participating in the Springettsbury Police Department’s annual Shop With a Cop program, helping bring smiles and holiday cheer to local children.
During the event, each child was paired with a first responder who escorted them while they shopped until they reached their allotted amount. Firefighters said the excitement and joy on the children’s faces captured the true spirit of the program—and judging by the laughter, the kids had a great time too.
York Area United Fire & Rescue extended sincere thanks to the Springettsbury Police Department for the invitation and for allowing them to be part of such a meaningful and special community event.
