Rheems Fire Department Responds to Barn Fire on Maytown Road

Just before 9:30 p.m. on December 6, 2025, crews from the Rheems Fire Department were dispatched to a reported barn fire along Maytown Road. Engine 70 arrived on scene and found bedding for chickens actively burning, with minimal extension to the structure. Firefighters quickly placed the fire under control shortly after arrival. Crews remained on scene to remove burning materials, conduct overhaul, and ensure the building was safe to return to service. The incident was mitigated without significant damage to the structure, and no injuries were reported. The Rheems Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Maytown-East Donegal Township Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department Station 74, Fire Department Mount Joy, Bainbridge Fire Company 71, Mastersonville Fire Company, Columbia Borough Fire Department Station 80, and Pioneer Fire Company No. 1 of Marietta.
