Vernon Township, N.J. — November 18 — To improve coordination and operational preparation, firefighters from four local departments came together for their monthly combined training. During this session, which took place in Highland Lakes, personnel alternated between several training stations that emphasized practical fireground abilities. Members received training alongside mutual aid partners, giving departments a chance to practice collaborating under standard operating procedures. Collaborative training enhances speed, familiarity, and communication in real-world situations requiring multi-agency responses. Frequent cooperation also promotes safe operations and a common knowledge of tools and strategies. The significance of regional collaboration and readiness was emphasized during the training. The participating departments were acknowledged by Vernon Township Fire Department Company #1 for their ongoing dedication to collaboration and professional growth.
