Structure Fire, Grove St. in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - Newburgh FD received a call for a possible structure fire at 60 Grove Street at 10:45 A.M. on December 12th. Command requested a Second Alarm sounded for heavy fire in the upstairs of the residence. West Point, Air National Guard and Goodwill Fire Departments responded to the scene. Firefighters used hand lines and extended a ladder to the roof area. At the 10 minute status check, two lines were in operation still knocking the fire down. At the 20 minute status check, the fire was out and crews began hitting hot spots and starting overhaul. Deputy Orange County Fire Coordinator 36-12 was at the scene. City of Newburgh Police blocked the area off to traffic. Empress EMS was at the scene. One firefighter was injured. Central Hudson was called for power and gas to be shut off. Cause/Origin was called to the scene for fire investigation. Red Cross was called for three adults and one child. New Windsor and Cornwall on the Hudson stood by in City of Newburgh Fire headquarters. The fire is currently under investigation.
