Engine 5 Responds Mutual Aid to Elizabeth for Coverage During Major Fire

WESTFIELD, N.J. — November 22 — While city units were working at a fourth-alarm structure fire, Westfield Engine 5 entered Elizabeth for a cover mission. In order to guarantee continuous fire protection throughout the protracted crisis, the engine was designated to provide standby coverage. As required by the mutual-aid assignment, Engine 5 remained available and was put back into service when coverage responsibilities were finished.
