After a Tough Week, North Hudson Promotes Eight Members

NORTH BERGEN, NJ - On Thanksgiving evening, a West New York fire and explosion in West New York sent eight North Hudson Regional firefighters to area hospitals. Some sustained serious injuries, but all survived and will recover. Residents of the burning structure were rescued via ladder.


On the morning of November 28th, North Hudson firefighters battled an all-hands fire in a two-story commercial building that was fully involved upon arrival, along 86th Street, North Bergen. 


At noon on November 28th, the regional department conducted a promotional ceremony for eight members at the Waterside Restaurant.


Weehawken Mayor, and North Hudson Fire & Rescue Management Board Chairman, Richard Turner, who was at the Thanksgiving 3rd alarm, praised the members of the fire department, police and EMS personnel for their professionalism and life-saving actions. 


North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco praised the firefighters for their quick work at the morning's fire, near a newly acquired township school. 


Chief of Department David Donnarumma swore in the members to their new ranks. Promoted to deputy chief was Alan Williams, Jr. Promoted to battalion chief was Jason Hodge. New captains are Marc Lombardo, Samuel Griglio, Jr., Steven Alvarez, Edgardo Feliciano, Patrick Klebaur and Matthew Huelbig.
