Car Burst Into Flames In Yaphank

Yaphank N.Y- On Friday December 11th at about 10:04PM the Yaphank fire department was toned out for a car fire in front of the Speedway gas station on Horseblock Road and Old Dock Road. On arrival, Suffolk county police sector car 516 had a fully involved car fire that was a little west of Old Dock road and began blocking off the road till FD got there. The first chiefs on the road was 5-30-30 and 5-30-32 , while En-route firecom advised that SCPD was on scene with a fully involved car fire. The first due engine was engine 7 and was given orders by chief 30 to arrive on scene and stretch the front bumper line and to get water on the fire. The second due engine was engine 9 and was given orders to pull right aside engine 7 and send their crew to assist with overhaul. The fire was brought under control within a short time of the first engine being on scene and all units were back in service within the hour.
