Colonie, N.Y. — November 21 — The Fuller Road Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1342 Central Avenue, hosted a bailout training session that served as both a refresher for seasoned firefighters and a first introduction to the technique for new members. Midway Fire Department helped the department conduct the simulation by lending its bailout trainer for the evening.
Particularly in buildings where upper-floor operations are frequent, bailout procedures are an essential component of firefighter survival training. Controlled departures, the use of ropes, and safe window transitions under teacher observation were the main topics of the program. Officials stressed that regular training boosts self-assurance and guarantees that firemen can respond swiftly in dangerous circumstances. The collaborative approach supported continued regional training standards and improved collaboration between the two departments.
