Colonie, N.Y. — November 13 — Department A reported structure fire at 422 Sand Creek Road prompted the Fuller Road Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1342 Central Avenue, to react. The first alarm also prompted the dispatch of the West Albany Fire Department, Colonie Fire Company, and Shaker Road–Loudonville Fire Department.

Crews found a smoke condition on the sixth story when they arrived. The source was found to be incense burning in a flammable container, which caused enough smoke and heat to worry locals. After ventilating the hallway, firefighters verified that there was no fire damage or extension. After the floor cleared, residents were permitted to return. As more individuals utilize indoor heat sources, candles, and incense throughout the winter, officials observed that similar non-fire smoke events are frequent.
