Sandown, NH – November 11 — Firefighters at Sandown Fire Rescue, 314 Main Street, were conducting a routine training exercise tonight when they noticed the northern lights blazing overhead through the station windows. A powerful geomagnetic storm that extended aurora vision into New Hampshire and other regions of New England coincided with the spectacle. The sun's energized particles hitting with Earth's atmosphere gave the lights their green, pink, and purple hues.
The firehouse was easy to view because of the low light and clear skies. The aurora offered a serene moment beneath open sky for those on duty, a silent reminder of nature's reach even amid regular labor.
