Salem, NH – November 11 — On Veterans Day, the Salem Fire Department, located at 152 Main St., Salem, NH, joined towns nationwide. The day was first observed as Armistice Day almost a century ago, commemorating the end of World War I on November 11, 1918.Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honour all those who have served in all U.S. military engagements, whether in times of war or peace.
The Salem Fire Department honors all veterans on Veterans Day by expressing gratitude for their service and keeping in mind the liberties that their labor protects.
