Newmarket, NH — November 9 — Tanker 4 from Newmarket Fire & Rescue's station at 4 Young Lane was sent to assist a small brush fire in neighbouring Durham, New Hampshire. The tanker transported people and water to a place without hydrants. The additional water supply aided the local firefighters and helped contain the flames. Sending a water tanker is frequently the quickest option to assist because this type of situation can spread quickly when water is short. The action was taken in accordance with a mutual aid agreement, which is a formal arrangement between fire departments to support one another when a local department need additional resources.
