Owls Head, ME — December 7 —Members of the Owls Head Fire Department worked hard on community engagement on Saturday before answering a call in the evening. Earlier in the day, crews assisted two consecutive public events where they met locals and displayed equipment.

The department was alerted to a fire alarm activation just minutes after staff members went home. The response concluded that there was no fire and that the problem was caused by a cooking accident. Nine members answered the call despite having a demanding day. The high turnout was cited by department leadership as evidence of the volunteers' increasing commitment and morale.
