On 2nd December 2025 - The Callaway Fire Department is mourning the passing of retired firefighter Daniel Schroeder, who faithfully served the Callaway community for 31.5 years with distinction, dedication, and honor. Throughout his long and respected career, Schroeder was known for his professionalism, courage, and unwavering commitment to the protection of life and property. His service left a lasting impact on both the department and the community he served so selflessly.
Daniel retired in 2017, leaving behind a legacy built on integrity, hard work, and deep respect from his fellow firefighters. To many within the department, he was more than a coworker—he was family. His influence continues to be felt through the many firefighters he mentored and inspired over the decades.
The department expressed its gratitude for Schroeder’s lifetime of service, honoring the sacrifices he made and the countless lives he touched along the way. Funeral arrangements will be shared with the community as they become available. The Callaway Fire Department respectfully asks that the public keep Daniel’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
