December 1, 2025 — Team members from Polk County Fire Rescue, joined by personnel from other local agencies, have successfully completed the ICS-400 Advanced Incident Command System course—one of the highest levels of emergency management training available.

The course provides in-depth instruction on managing large-scale, complex, and multi-agency incidents, equipping participants with advanced strategies for command structure, coordination, and operational decision-making during major emergencies.

Department leaders said completion of ICS-400 strengthens regional response capabilities and ensures responders are prepared to operate effectively during high-impact incidents that require unified command and advanced coordination.

The accomplishment reflects PCFR’s ongoing commitment to professional development, interagency cooperation, and delivering the highest level of emergency service to Polk County residents.
