December 2, 2025 — Polk County Fire Rescue is preparing for a major leap forward as construction continues on its new training center, a facility that will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of firefighters and EMTs when it opens in 2026.
Current photos of the training grounds highlight the transformation underway, showcasing the department’s investment in advanced, in-house instruction designed to enhance operational readiness and professional development across the agency.
PCFR officials also used the milestone to encourage prospective recruits to answer the call to service. Those who join now could be among the first to train inside the new facility, gaining access to upgraded resources, expanded hands-on instruction, and future enhancements including Kelly Days and in-house EMS training.
County leaders say the upgrades reflect PCFR’s continued commitment to firefighter wellness, career growth, and delivering the highest level of emergency service to Polk County residents.
