December 2, 2025 — Last month, the Haines City Fire Department launched a new community outreach program focused on supporting early literacy in local schools and preschools. Through a partnership with the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County, HCFD team members have been paired with individual sites for monthly reading visits, helping to build positive relationships with young learners throughout the community.

On November 6, Fire Inspector Nathanael Tinaya visited Kids Academy Learning Center USA, where Founder and Owner Iris Padilla welcomed the program. Students gathered for story time, and each child received their own copy of the book Dance, generously provided by the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County.

Haines City Fire Department officials say the program reflects their commitment to supporting early education while strengthening community connections. The department looks forward to continuing this meaningful outreach on a monthly basis.
