Work continued on the new Barnstable Fire Station site as crews advanced key preparation tasks. With the district offices and water department already relocated to 255 Breed’s Hill Road, contractors had full access to the property. A retaining wall was being constructed on the western side to support the station’s future foundation and site layout.

The existing building on the lot was scheduled for demolition in the coming weeks to create a clear construction area. Officials said the new facility will provide updated space for personnel, apparatus, and training needs, supporting the district’s long-term emergency response capabilities. Barnstable Fire Department plans to share additional progress as construction moves forward.
