Chichester, NH — December 1 — Rescue 2 of the Chichester Fire Department continued to operate during the night while personnel responded to two significant mutual-aid situations. In order to help suppression efforts, the unit had to send more personnel and equipment to Boscawen for a second-alarm structure fire. Rescue 2 was sent to Deering for a third-alarm fire shortly after clearing that scene, where several units collaborated under mutual-aid agreements. In order to reinforce safety and staffing requirements during prolonged operations, Chichester personnel supported teams already working on the fireground. The nightly assignments served as an example of how regional collaboration aids in handling difficult situations while guaranteeing local areas are covered. Strong teamwork and ongoing assistance through the mutual-aid system were recognized by the department.
