On November 13, 2025, Kingsland Fire Rescue announced the presentation of a Letter of Commendation to Donovan Rodriguez for his quick thinking and selfless response during a reported fire alarm the previous afternoon.

According to the department, at approximately 3:32 p.m. on November 12, Rodriguez heard a fire alarm sounding at a home on Camellia Drive. Without hesitation, he approached the residence, knocked on the door to alert anyone who might be inside, and called Kingsland Fire Rescue to report the emergency.

Fire crews later determined the home was unoccupied and the alarm was malfunctioning. However, the department emphasized that Rodriguez’s vigilance and willingness to take action reflected the highest level of community responsibility.

In its commendation, Kingsland Fire Rescue praised Rodriguez for his “excellent decision-making and selfless commitment,” noting that his actions demonstrated genuine concern for the safety and well-being of others.

The department extended its appreciation on behalf of both Kingsland Fire Rescue and the citizens it serves, recognizing Rodriguez as an example of community readiness and compassion.
