November 27, 2025 —While families across Butts County gathered around their tables to celebrate Thanksgiving, many of the county’s 9-1-1 dispatchers, deputy sheriffs, firefighters, and EMS personnel remained on duty—ensuring that whenever an emergency arises, help is only moments away.
For several years, Christy Jo Suthard has exemplified the true meaning of Thanksgiving by organizing warm holiday meals for first responders working through the holiday. Her tradition of generosity brings together local families who share her desire to support those who serve.
Her heartfelt efforts remind the community that service extends beyond uniforms and shift schedules—it thrives in the compassion and unity of the people of Butts County.
The department expressed its gratitude to Christy Jo and to every resident who contributes to this annual act of kindness.
“From our family to yours—Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for standing with us,” the department shared, honoring the ongoing partnership between first responders and the citizens they protect.
