December 3, Owls Head, ME: Knox County has had a busy day, and Owls Head firemen demonstrated how cooperation endures long after a call. Chief Hallett saw a garbage truck smoking across the street from his house on Wednesday night. He asked for an all-hands response to ensure a quick and safe operation, as there were homes close to the truck.
As they prepared lines in case the fire spread, firefighters arrived and looked into the source of the smoke. South Thomaston Emergency Services and Rockland Fire & EMS assisted by reacting to fire attacks and being ready to help with other chores as needed. Before clearing, crews made sure everything was under control.
