Three-Alarm Fire Displaces Twelve in Norwalk

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 13 Golden Hill Street on Nov. 29th at 2:26 p.m. Firefighters arrived to discover significant fire conditions inside the home and advanced the first hoseline to begin suppression efforts. Five firefighters were sent to Norwalk Hospital after sustaining burns while working inside the structure. All were treated and later freed. The fire reached three alarms, which needed all Norwalk fire companies on scene. In order to keep the city safe throughout the crisis, mutual help from the fire departments of Stamford, New Canaan, Westport, and Rowayton supplied station coverage.

There were no reported injuries to the residents. The American Red Cross is assisting twelve displaced residents. The Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
