Litchfield, NH — November 12 — Following reports that a chimney fire on Windsor Boulevard had spread into a house, Londonderry received mutual aid from Litchfield Fire Rescue. As activities grew, Tanker 3 and Utility 1 were asked to help with personnel and water supply. In order to prevent the fire from spreading and safeguard the nearby structure, crews collaborated with Londonderry and other departments.

In colder months, chimney fires are frequent and, if left unchecked, can spread swiftly into attic areas and walls. In situations where more persons or equipment are needed, regional mutual aid guarantees that the nearest and most efficient resources are accessible.According to Litchfield Fire Rescue, every unit worked safely and helped contain the fire. The department is still available to help partners as needed.
