Amherst, NH — November 11 — In honour of Veterans Day, Department Amherst Fire Rescue, located at 177 Amherst St., honoured the commitment and service of American military veterans. Leadership, teamwork, and mission-focused training are brought to emergency operations by many members of the fire and EMS community who have served in the armed forces.

According to the agency, their abilities facilitate prompt decision-making and safe response in the event of community emergencies, medical calls, and fires. Amherst Fire Rescue joined organizations throughout New Hampshire in expressing gratitude to veterans and their families for the sacrifices they made while serving in the military and in their ongoing civic service.

Recognizing the close relationship between military service and public safety, officials urged locals to take time today and throughout the year to honour veterans.
