Woods Fire Contained After Burning 24.7 Acres on Sparta Highway

On November 18, 2025, Baldwin County Fire Rescue responded to a significant woods fire in the 900 block of Sparta Highway after receiving reports of a rapidly spreading blaze threatening multiple structures. Initial estimates placed the fire at approximately 10 to 12 acres; however, the final assessment confirmed a total burn area of 24.7 acres.
Units on scene included Engine 5, Engine 3, Brush Truck 1, Brush Truck 7, Tanker 4, Battalion 1, and mutual aid assistance from Hancock Station 2. Crews worked aggressively to protect nearby structures while containing the advancing fire front. Their coordinated effort successfully brought the incident under control.
Fire Rescue personnel are urging the public to continue avoiding the area as final checks and cleanup operations conclude. Baldwin County Fire Rescue commends all responding agencies for their outstanding teamwork and swift action in preventing further spread and potential damage.
