Jefferson, NH — November 16 — On Sunday, the Jefferson Fire Department took part in a real fire drill in the Town of Lancaster. The department hired an interior team to perform practical work within the building and brought Tanker 1 to assist with water shuttle operations. In a controlled setting that closely mimics the circumstances of actual incidents, firefighters rehearsed synchronized fire attack, ventilation, and communication. Training with regional partners guarantees effective mutual-aid responses when necessary and fosters teamwork. Departments continue honing their skills as winter draws near in order to be prepared for weather-related and heating-related problems.
