November 10, 2025 — Citrus County Fire Rescue responded early this morning to a structure fire at the Bell Villa Mobile Home Park on South Suncoast Boulevard in Homosassa, where a vacant single-wide mobile home was heavily damaged by flames.
Engine 3 (Homosassa) arrived to find the residence approximately 25% involved. Firefighters deployed hose lines and quickly knocked down the fire within minutes. Battalion Chief 2 assumed command, coordinating suppression efforts with crews from Connell Heights, Sugarmill Woods, Kensington, and Pine Ridge. The fire was fully extinguished by 12:29 a.m. No injuries were reported.
An on-scene investigation determined the blaze was unintentional and electrical in origin, beginning near the home’s interior breaker panel. The property was unoccupied and undergoing renovations at the time of the fire.
CCFR reminds residents to have electrical systems inspected by a licensed electrician—especially during remodeling projects. Faulty wiring and overloaded circuits remain major causes of preventable home fires.
