MILLEDGEVILLE — November 5, 2025 — As Veterans Day approached, Baldwin County Fire Rescue joined the Operation Green Light initiative by illuminating its fire stations and county buildings in green. The nationwide program encourages communities to display green lights from November 4–11 as a symbol of hope, renewal, and gratitude for the nation’s veterans. The gesture serves as a reminder that veterans are seen, valued, and supported throughout the community.
Baldwin County Fire Rescue also recognized and thanked the members of its own staff who served in the United States Armed Forces. The department expressed appreciation for their continued dedication to public service, noting the following veterans among its ranks: Chief Phillip Adams of the U.S. Air Force, Chief Bradley Towe of the U.S. Army, Firefighter Jonathan Soileau of the U.S. Army, Firefighter Montavious Harris of the U.S. Navy, Firefighter Othello Walker of the U.S. Marine Corps, Firefighter Brad McGlohon of the U.S. Army, Firefighter Al Haslam of the U.S. Navy, Firefighter Melvin Wayne Johnson of the U.S. Army, Firefighter Logan Glover of the U.S. Army, and Firefighter Bruce Cowan of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Officials said the green lights represent a small but meaningful tribute to the service and sacrifices of veterans both within the department and across Baldwin County.
