Oct. 24, 2025 — The Baxley Fire Department visited Appling Pre-K as part of Fire Safety Week, providing young students with hands-on lessons in essential fire prevention techniques. Firefighters demonstrated how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll,” how to crawl low under smoke, and what steps to take if a fire occurs at home.
Department officials expressed appreciation to the school’s teachers and staff for welcoming the visit, noting that early education plays an important role in building lifelong safety awareness among children.
