Emergency Siren Test Conducted

Nov. 12, 2025 — According to the Appling County Emergency Management Agency, Plant Hatch conducted a scheduled test of its emergency notification system at approximately 12 PM. During the exercise, outdoor warning sirens in the vicinity of the plant were activated and sounded continuously for three minutes.

The test affected portions of Appling, Toombs, Tattnall, and Jeff Davis counties. Officials emphasized that the activation was part of routine emergency preparedness procedures and noted that no action from the public was required.
