KEENE, NH — November 12 — In the morning, professional firefighters from Keene IAFF Local 3265 were sent to 22 Blake Street due to a reported garage fire that was connected to a house. As crews departed central station, a distinct plume of smoke was observed. When the first units arrived, they discovered a large fire in the garage and used several handlines to contain it. Firefighters swiftly looked for any extensions into the house after a search revealed no one was inside. In order to ensure that there were sufficient resources to support operations, off-duty staff responded to assist workers with additional equipment. While personnel worked at the scene, additional calls in the city were handled by mutual-aid partners. Additionally, the department offered assistance to a firefighter who was responding to the incident and is currently recuperating from an injury.
