TEANECK, NJ - An overnight blaze in the basement of a Cedar Lane market was held in check until firefighters were able to extinguish the flames. Shortly after midnight on November 25, 2023, TFD units were dispatched to The Cedar Market at 646 Cedar Lane. Smoke was showing from the rear of the former CVS Pharmacy. Firefighters opened up and soon found the seat of the fire and sprinklers in operation in the basement. A second-alarm was transmitted. One line was advanced and quickly had the fire knocked down. A check for extension proved negative, and the fire was placed under control at 12:30 A.M. The Health Department was summoned due to the food products in the building. No injuries were reported.
