Colonie, NY - On November 6, 2022, at 8:01 PM, The Boght Community Fire Company along with the Verdoy Fire Department, Latham Fire Department, and Colonie Village Fire Company for the Fast Team and Colonie Emergency Medical Services was dispatched for a reported structure fire at Four Bergen Wood Drive. The caller reported the back of the house was on fire.

Boght chief arrived on scene and had a heavy fire condition, shooting over the top of the house and notified the dispatcher that he had a large number of trees on fire, and was investigating. Command requested the first engine on arrival to immediately deploy multiple hand lines to the rear of the structure to protect the exposure and command notified the units that they had a shed well involved. The first arriving engine on scene immediately deployed multiple hand lines to the rear of the structure and began to knock down the heavy fire condition.

Firefighters checked one of the neighboring sheds that was affected by the fire and checked for extension inside. The shed suffered damage to the exterior portion due to the high temperatures of the adjacent shed on fire. Firefighters sprayed down the roof of the nearby home as hot embers from the fire were landing on the roof of the home on arrival. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation at this time.
