October 20, 2025 — Firefighters from the Malabar Fire Department partnered with Palm Bay Fire Rescue for a joint roof ventilation training exercise designed to enhance speed, safety, and coordinated operations on the fireground.

During the drill, crews practiced roof cutting techniques and learned methods to effectively vent heat and smoke from structures during active fires. The training emphasized precision, communication, and teamwork — critical skills that help firefighters gain control of interior conditions more quickly while reducing risks to both responders and occupants.

Members from both departments worked together on simulated roof operations, reinforcing the importance of coordinated actions between ground crews and roof teams.

The Malabar Fire Department highlighted the value of joint training to improve operational readiness and thanked Palm Bay Fire Rescue for collaborating in the exercise.
