November 14, 2025 — The City of Cocoa Beach conducted a large-scale Mass Casualty Response Exercise this morning at Brightwaters Preserve, bringing together multiple emergency response agencies for a coordinated training scenario.

The exercise began around 9:00 a.m. and simulated a multi-vehicle, multi-victim trauma incident. Participating agencies included the Cocoa Beach Fire Department (CBFD), Cocoa Beach Police Department (CBPD), Cape Canaveral Fire Department, Coastal Ambulance, Port of Canaveral, Brevard County Fire Rescue, Health First, and the Flight for Life helicopter team.

This joint training allowed crews to practice interagency communication, scene coordination, triage operations, and patient transport — all critical components in responding effectively during large-scale emergencies.

Residents were asked to avoid the area during the exercise and to observe only from a safe distance if nearby. City officials thanked the public for their cooperation and emphasized the importance of this training in enhancing community safety and preparedness.
