Durham, NH — October 29 — The statewide burn ban has been removed, according to the Durham NH Fire Department, located at 51 College Road, since the state's weather has improved and the risk of fire has diminished. The likelihood of brush and wildland fires was reduced by recent rainfall and lower temperatures. Outdoor burning, including for brush piles or seasonal trash, still needs a valid permission even after the moratorium was lifted. Residents are reminded by fire officials to keep an eye on the situation, abide by local laws, and have a water source nearby in case of a fire. Additionally, the agency stresses the need of sticking with the fire until it is completely extinguished. The community can continue to lower fire hazards and take advantage of better autumn weather for outdoor burning by implementing these easy procedures.
