October 24, 2025 — Alachua County Fire Rescue reported that Engine 40, Battalion Chief 5, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, the Florida Division of Forestry, and North Collier County units participated in escorting the Brotherhood Ride from ACFR Station 40 to the county line as the team continued its journey toward South Carolina.
According to ACFR, the Brotherhood Ride is a nonprofit organization that honors fallen first responders by cycling to their hometowns, offering both financial and emotional support to their families, friends, and colleagues. The tribute takes place approximately one year after each honoree’s passing, serving as a reminder that their service and sacrifice remain deeply valued.
The department noted that the organization’s mission reflects the fire service principles of honor, dedication, and pride, and ACFR was grateful for the opportunity to support the riders as they carried those values forward on their journey.
