ACFR and Gainesville Fire Rescue contain shed and greenhouse fire within minutes

November 14, 2025 — Alachua County Fire Rescue reported that crews from ACFR and Gainesville Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire involving a shed and multiple greenhouses that were fully engulfed upon arrival. Firefighters acted quickly to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby brush and a residence.
According to the department, the coordinated response between ACFR and GFR allowed crews to bring the fire under control just 13 minutes after arriving on scene, stopping the incident from escalating further.
Alachua County Fire Rescue reminded residents to use caution when operating portable heaters and to follow all recommended safety practices to help prevent future fires.
