Basement Wall Collapse Leads to Water Emergency in Deposit

Deposit, NY — November 9 — On Sunday afternoon, the Deposit Fire Department responded to a report of water in the basement of a single-family home in Deposit. Midi-Pumper 22 came and discovered a damaged water pipe caused by the collapse of an outside basement foundation wall. Engine 22 and Rescue 22 were dispatched to assist workers as they sought to secure the impacted utilities and limit further damage inside the residence.
The Village of Deposit Code Enforcement Officer assisted on scene in assessing structural concerns following the collapse. There were no injuries recorded, and units were vacated after verifying the residence was safe for additional inspection by the homeowner and code officials.
