Matamoras, PA — November 6 — In order to review the protocols for setting up a fill site in rural water operations, the Matamoras Fire Department Station 32, 506 Ave Q, held a drill at West End Beach on Thursday night. In order to provide consistent water flow for tankers and engines during fireground demands, members rehearsed setting up a water supply and using the department's five-way manifold. While rookie members learnt the expectations for basic water-supply chores on the site, seasoned firemen had the chance to hone their skills. In Pike County, where hydrant access varies by location, rural water operations are still crucial. This kind of training guarantees effectiveness during structure fires and brush fires requiring tanker operations and promotes mutual-aid readiness with neighboring departments.
