Hackensack Fire Department highlights extensive fall fire prevention outreach

November 7, 2025 — Hackensack Fire Department reported that although Fire Prevention Week is officially recognized from October 5–11, firefighters across the city have continued delivering fire safety education throughout the fall. To date, members have participated in more than twenty public outreach events aimed at increasing community awareness and preparedness.


According to the department, elementary schools hosted full-day fire prevention and safety assemblies, while firefighters also visited numerous pre-K programs. Additional engagements included Touch-a-Truck and Trunk-or-Treat events, literacy activities such as “He Reads to Me,” HPD/HFD Youth Nights at the M&M Center, community CPR trainings, and health fairs conducted with Hackensack University Medical Center and the Hackensack Health Department.


Chief Rosazza and the Hackensack Fire Department expressed gratitude to partner agencies, schools, organizations, and residents for their ongoing support, noting that collaboration is key to strengthening public safety and community resilience.
