October 19, 2025 — Edgewater Fire Company #1 reported that members of the East Bergen Rappel Team spent last Sunday participating in a training class focused on the department’s newly acquired Arizona Vortex system. The session was instructed by All Hands Fire and funded through the East Bergen Mutual Aid Fireman’s Association.
According to the company, the training provided hands-on familiarization with the versatile tripod system, which is used in technical rescue operations involving confined spaces, steep angles, and complex rope scenarios. Members learned setup, stabilization, and operational techniques to ensure safe and effective deployment during emergencies.
Edgewater Fire Company #1 expressed appreciation to the training instructors and the mutual-aid association for supporting the team’s ongoing preparedness, noting that the Arizona Vortex adds another valuable tool to their rescue capabilities.
