Ridgewood, N.J — Nov. 13 — A Platoon spent Thursday morning at the Bergen County Fire Academy working through several iterations of the mask-confidence course, which is meant to increase comfort and proficiency while operating in full SCBA. The obstacle drills simulate difficult interior conditions such as limited sight, cramped areas, and stressful surroundings, requiring firefighters to remain calm and communicate coherently.
